Inspired by history

Le chat noir
poster: La tournée du Chat Noir avec Rodolphe Salis (Tour of the Le Chat Noir with Rodolphe Salis), painted by the Art Nouveau artist Théophile Steinlen.

In a cocktail shaker:
• 1 part (around 0,8 oz) of black rum
• 1 part of black cachaça
• 1 part of cherries purée (sugarless)*
• 1/2 part of cherry syrup**
• Ice
* I’ve used very ripe cherries to make the purée even darker.
** Home-made cherry syrups become darker than the industrialised ones.
>> Cherry to garnish

Vincent van Gogh's sunflower series of paintings were based, specially, on the vibrancy of the chrome yellow. That was the inspiration for this cocktail.

• 2 oz of passion fruit juice (sweetened)
• 1 oz of milk
• 1 oz of your favorite dark rum
• 1 oz of your favorite white rum
• 1 oz of Cointreau
• 5 cubes of frozen orange juice
• orange peels to garnish
In a cocktail shaker mix the passion fruit juice, the milk, the two types of rum and the Cointreau. Pour the mixture into a glass. Take the orange juice cubes and manually crush them inside a towel or plastic bag. You can also use an ice shaver or a blender. Slightly pour the crushed orange juice on the top of the previous mixture. Serv it with a spoon or straw, so the the crushed ice can be mixed with the rest of the beverage.
